“My work thrives on small, almost unnoticeable details, disruptions and changes, the relationship between focus and boredom, and some nonsense. Add humor and playfulness on top of that; the humor is not always funny, and playfulness is sometimes replaced by rebellion.”
Biba Košmerl (Novo mesto, 1990) graduated from Visual Communication at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2014. She recieved her masters degree in Graphic Design at the Yale University School of Art in New Haven, CT in 2016. She showcased her work at numerous group and solo exhibitions in Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and United States. Her work was awarded with a TDC Certificate of Typographic Excellence (2014), a honorable mention at 6th Biennial of Slovene Visual Communications and a Brumen Award for the best work in Newspaper and Magazines category, at 7th Biennial of Slovene Visual Communications. She recieved the grand prix at a photographic open call Alternative worlds (Photon gallery, 2014). She is currently living and working in New York, USA.
